Your Settings tab contains account-level defaults. Changes made here apply across your RealScout account and affect all leads and clients unless a more specific setting overrides it at the contact level.
Settings are grouped into four areas:
Lead registration requirements
Display and compliance options
Extra features (open house visibility, market data, mortgage calculator)
Alert and email preferences
Instructions
Open Your Settings Tab
Log in to your RealScout account → Click the Settings tab in the left navigation.
Set Lead Registration Requirements
This controls how many listings a lead can view before being asked to register.
Locate the Lead Registration section → Choose one of the following options:
Immediate registration -- leads must sign up before viewing any listings
View some listings first -- leads can browse a limited number of listings before the registration prompt appears
Unlimited browsing -- leads can view listings without signing up
Note: Your available options may depend on your MLS data feed's agreement with RealScout. Some associations, MLS, or agreements require lead registration, which means leads to need create an account/sign in with you to view listings.
→ Required registration primarily impacts shared search links. Your existing RealScout contacts wouldn't have to register; new leads would sign up to access the results.
This doesn't impact the use of:
Your "What's my Home Worth?" lead capture page or widget
My Listings or Office Listings displaying on your landing page/personal site
Configure TCR (Text Message Communication) Notices
TCR compliance notices are displayed as part of the public sign-up disclaimer.
This option is on by default.
It informs leads about text message communication at the point of registration.
Enable or Disable Extra Display Features
Open House Dates and Times
Go to the open house display toggle → Enable it to hide open house dates and times from client-facing listings.

Use this if you want to generate inbound messages around open house events.
Buyer Demand Highlights on Market Activity Alerts
Go to the market data toggle → Enable it to hide RealScout buyer demand highlights from market activity alert emails.
When hidden, the buyer demand section is omitted from the alert entirely.

Note: this calculator is not viewable in the agent's view of a listing, at this time.
CC Yourself on Listing Alert Emails
Locate the CC toggle → Enable it to receive a copy of every listing alert email sent to your contacts.
Useful for monitoring what your clients are seeing and staying informed of new matches.
The CC is sent to the email address associated with your RealScout account.
Using the RealScout agent app/dashboard are how you can access view-only copies of everything sent to your leads.
Suppress the Natural-Language Introduction in Alert Emails
Locate the suppress toggle → Enable it to remove the natural-language introduction from all alert emails sent to contacts.
RealScout includes a natural-language summary at the top of listing alert emails by default.
Use this if you prefer a more direct, listing-focused email format.
Common Questions
Does changing a setting here affect existing contacts or only new ones?
These are account-level defaults. Changes apply to all future alert sends and lead interactions.
Can I override these settings for individual contacts?
Some settings, such as alert settings and frequency, can be adjusted at the contact level. Account-level defaults apply as the default.
Why don't I see all three registration options?
The data feed/MLS may prefer users be signed up with an active agent like you, so your leads just have to register and then will be able to access the link/search.
Does hiding open house details remove the open house from the listing entirely?
No. Clients can still see that an open house is scheduled. Only the specific date and time are hidden, prompting them to contact you for details.
