"You Must Be Logged In to View" for Open House Information

Open house times and details on RealScout may require Contacts to be logged in before they can view them. This article explains why the login prompt appears, how to check your display settings, and what your Contact can do to view the information.

When a Contact sees a "You Must Be Logged In to View" prompt on open house information, it is caused either by your account's open house display setting or by an MLS data rule. In most cases the Contact resolves it by logging in to their RealScout account.

Why this happens

Open house visibility in RealScout depends on two factors:

  • MLS data rules: Some MLS boards restrict open house details (times, addresses, or other information) from users who are not logged in. RealScout enforces these rules automatically. If the restriction comes from the MLS, it applies regardless of your account settings.

  • Your Suppress Open House Info setting: Your agent account has a setting that controls whether logged-in Contacts can see open house information. If it is toggled on, even logged-in Contacts will not see open house details.

The fix is almost always logging in. Open house data cannot be shown to logged-out visitors, so the resolution is to get the Contact signed in to their RealScout account with you.

Check your open house display setting

  1. Go to Settings in your RealScout account.

  2. Open Contact Interface Settings.

  3. Locate the Suppress Open House Info toggle.

  4. To let Contacts see open house details when logged in, confirm this setting is turned off.

MLS rules can still apply. Even with this setting turned off, MLS data rules may restrict open house information for certain listing types or boards. That is outside RealScout's control.

What your Contact should do

If your Contact sees the login prompt, they need to log in to their RealScout account with you:

  1. Log in directly: have the Contact go to realscout.com/users/sign_in and sign in with the email address you added them with and their RealScout password.

  2. Send a Welcome Email or password reset: from the Contact's profile, use the three-dot menu to send a Welcome Email or a Reset Password email. Either gives them a direct login link.

  3. Use the RealScout app: the RealScout Home Search app keeps Contacts logged in automatically. Direct them to download it using the link at the bottom of any Listing Alert email you have sent.
