Off-boarding or Disconnecting a RealScout Account Integrated with Follow Up Boss

This guide outlines the steps for a team member to offboard from a Follow Up Boss account connected to RealScout, ensuring a smooth transition and proper disconnection of integrations.

Important: Never delete the RealScout API key in Follow Up Boss before following the proper offboarding steps. Deleting the RealScout API key before completing the opt-out process at https://www.realscout.com/agent/integrations is known to cause issues.

After off-boarding and having your previous 2-way FUB integration removed, a new API key should be set up by you as the individual/team owner in Follow Up Boss, following the guidance here.


Steps to Off-board

Step 1: Notify Your Team Owner (or Office Admin/Leadership) and Member Support

  1. Inform your team owner/admin that you will be off-boarding from the current Follow Up Boss account

  2. Click on the Support button in RealScout

  3. Let support know that you are departing from your current team and need assistance with the integration transition

  4. In your support message, include:

    • Your team owner's name in Follow Up Boss

    • The email they use with RealScout (CC them too)

    • If you are moving to a new team, office, brokerage, or solo account, make sure to mention this and CC support@realscout.com in your request.

Note: Not keeping the admin/team owner or office informed can result in unexpected delays when moving, merging, or unmerging connections or contact databases.
A proactive approach is best when transitioning from one account to another and making integration changes at the same time.


Step 2: Opt Out of Integration

  1. Go to your RealScout Account at https://www.realscout.com/agent/integrations

  2. Find Follow Up Boss in the Integrations section

  3. Opt out of the integration if you are a team member

    1. Team Account owners, and Solo Account owners who are not using a team member connection, would see Delete Integration.

  4. Read the pop-up message confirming that you are opting out, which will disable the integration without deleting any data.

    1. The exception is if you trashed leads in Follow Up Boss AND have Delete Leads in the RealScout Configuration here:


Step 3: Set up and connect to your new Follow Up Boss integration

If you are a Follow Up Boss team/solo owner:

  1. Navigate to your Admin Settings in Follow Up Boss

  2. Go to All Integrations and generate a new API key first

Note: This step should only be completed by team owners and only after completing Step 2.

  • Follow Up Boss Team Members will just need RealScout Support to locate and link the accounts together.

  • This will allow our team to confirm your Follow Up Boss Team Owner has an active RealScout account and team integration, and that they have enabled Auto Connect.

Important Notes

  • Ensure you communicate with your team owner and Member Support throughout the off-boarding process to maintain proper lead assignment

  • Never delete the RealScout API key directly; always follow the proper opt-out steps first
