Auto Nurture: Listing Alert Auto Updates

Updated this week

How do the Listing Alerts created by Auto Nurture automatically update?

Every day that a contact has listing activity on RealScout, we’ll try to expand that searches’ price & location criteria based on their activity: Auto-updating alerts are a dynamic type of notification generated when a lead interacts with a listing included in the "Popular Homes in Your Area" alert or similar automated alerts. These alerts automatically adjust based on the lead’s activity and interests, ensuring that the notifications remain relevant to the client’s preferences.

Key Features of Auto-Updating Alerts:

  • Dynamic Adjustments: The criteria for these alerts, such as price range or location, can expand automatically based on the client’s engagement.

  • Client-Centric: These alerts are designed to adapt to what the client is actively exploring, providing a more personalized experience.

Differences Between Alert Types

Not all alerts in RealScout are auto-updating. Here’s how the different types of alerts compare:

  1. Auto-Updating Alerts:

    • Created automatically through systems like Auto Nurture.

    • Criteria adjust dynamically based on client activity.

  2. Agent-Created Alerts:

    • Set up manually by the agent for the client.

    • Criteria remain fixed unless manually updated by the agent.

  3. Client-Created Alerts:

    • Set up manually by the client through the RealScout interface.

    • Criteria remain fixed unless manually updated by the client. Leads without the auto-updating indicator typically fall into the agent-created or client-created categories.

How do you turn off Auto Updating?

This auto updating can be turned off per alert on the alert settings page: The Auto Update field in RealScout listing alerts indicates whether the search criteria can automatically expand based on client activity. This feature is exclusive to alerts created via Auto Nurture. For agent-created and client-created alerts, the Auto Update field will appear as "off," as these alerts do not support automatic adjustments.

Important Notes:

  • Alert Delivery: Clients can still receive notifications for new or updated listings even if the Auto Update field is off. The delivery of alerts is separate from the auto-updating functionality.

  • Criteria Expansion: Auto-updating affects how the search criteria evolve, not whether alerts are sent.

Common Questions and Clarifications

  • Why do some leads show as auto-updating while others do not? Leads show as auto-updating when their alerts are generated through Auto Nurture and adjust dynamically based on their activity. Alerts created manually by agents or clients do not have this feature.

  • Why might the Auto Update field show as off while clients still receive notifications? The Auto Update field reflects whether criteria can expand automatically. Notifications are sent based on the alert’s existing criteria, regardless of whether auto-updating is enabled.
