How to Find and Add Filters to your Search page

RealScout displays search filters fed directly from the data feed you are connected to. Filter names and available options may differ from those on your MLS member portal.

Finding a Filter in the Search Page

  1. Open the Search page or open an existing alert to edit it.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the search criteria and click Add Filters.

  3. In the search field that appears, type a keyword — for example, "garage," "pool," "view," or "stories."

  4. RealScout shows available filters matching that keyword for your MLS feed.

  5. Check the box next to the filter you want and click Apply Changes.

  6. The filter appears in your search criteria. Set the value and save.

Note: The Add Filters option is not available on all search pages. If you do not see it, the search page you are using may not support custom filter additions for your MLS.

If You Cannot Find a Specific Filter

Filter names vary by data feed because each MLS provides its own field names and data structure to RealScout. A filter that appears as "Pool: Yes/No" in one MLS may appear as "Pool Features" or "Water Features" in another.

An alternative would be to attempt using the Public Remark filter and enter keywords that could be used in the listing's description.

If you cannot locate a specific filter:

  1. Otherwise, pull up a listing in your MLS member portal that has the feature you are searching for.

  2. Note the exact field name as it appears in your MLS system.

  3. Email our support team with the MLS field name and an MLS printout showing the field (if available).

The Member Support team will confirm whether the field is available in RealScout and help you locate it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some filters appear for some contacts but not others?
Filters depend on the MLS data feed selected for that search. Switch to a different MLS, and the available filters change.

Can I use Add Filters in AI Search?
Yes. Click Add Filters in the filter panel, or describe what you're looking for in natural language, and AI Search will map it to the right filter.

What if a filter exists in my MLS but doesn't appear in RealScout?
Not every MLS field is surfaced in RealScout. Email support with the field name and an MLS printout, and we'll assess if we can add it.

Can I save a search with custom filters?
Yes. Any search you create, including those with custom filters, can be saved as an alert or template.
