FAQ: Dynamic Impersonation for Managers/ISAs

Managers and ISAs can impersonate agent accounts in RealScout and Follow Up Boss for lead management, troubleshooting, and collaboration. Learn how to access RealScout Alerts Links, use Manager Tools, and use impersonation.

Dynamic Impersonation allows designated Managers and Inside Sales Agents (ISAs) to securely access an agent's RealScout account to troubleshoot, collaborate, and manage leads. This feature must be enabled by RealScout for your team.


Before You Begin

  • Only designated managers or admins can use impersonation.

  • RealScout must enable this feature for your account.

  • Managers cannot impersonate other managers.

  • Users with impersonation privileges cannot impersonate others with the same access level.

Impersonating on Follow Up Boss

  1. Navigate to your agent, teammate, or the lead you are collaborating with.

  2. Scroll down to the Custom Links section.

  3. Click on the RealScout Alerts Link. This will take you to the designated agent's RealScout account, where you can view the lead's profile and alerts.

While viewing the lead's profile, a red banner with a Stop Impersonating option will be displayed at the top of the screen to return to your account.

Impersonating on RealScout

  1. Go to Manager Tools and click on Agents.

  2. Select an agent (non-manager); their profile will open.

  3. Click on Impersonate to log into their account.



While impersonating an agent, a red banner with a Stop Impersonating option will be displayed at the top of the screen to return to your account.



When to Use Impersonation

Use impersonation for:

  • Reviewing or editing listing alerts.

  • Troubleshooting Home Value Alerts.

  • Assisting with client communication setup.

  • Supporting agents with configuration issues.

  • Investigating lead engagement activity.

Avoid using impersonation for:

  1. Accessing other managers' accounts.

  2. Making workflow changes without notifying the assigned agent.

  3. Routine tasks that do not require elevated access.

Managers cannot impersonate other managers. Meaning those with access to this feature cannot impersonate others who have it at this time.

Can managers impersonate other managers?

No. Manager-to-manager impersonation is not supported.


Does impersonation affect Follow Up Boss?

No. Impersonation only affects access within RealScout.


Will activity be tracked under my name or the agent's?

While impersonating, actions occur within the agent's account context.
