RealScout Tags are labels that appear on a contact's record when specific behaviors occur — such as viewing a Home Value Alert or saving a property — and sync to connected CRMs so you can build automations around real engagement signals. Three categories exist: Engagement Tags (fired by contact behavior), Actionable Tags (applied manually to trigger a status change), and the Errors column (flags email delivery problems).
Errors are system-wide. If a contact's email bounces or is reported as spam from any agent's account in RealScout, that email address is blocked across every agent who has that contact — not just yours.
Engagement Tags
These tags are applied automatically when a contact takes a specific action in RealScout. They sync to connected CRMs (such as Follow Up Boss) and can be used to trigger Smart Lists, action plans, or other automations.
Tag Name | When It Fires |
RealScout HVA Viewed | Contact views their Home Value Alert page in RealScout |
RealScout HVA Valuation Message | Contact messages from their HVA page — requesting a price opinion or using the quick chat widget |
RealScout Market Activity Viewed | Contact views a Market Activity Alert |
RealScout Property Saved | Contact saves a property |
RealScout Property Viewed 3+ | Contact views the same property three or more times |
RealScout Message Sent | Contact sends a message to the agent through RealScout |
RealScout Showing Request Message | Contact clicks the showing request button on a listing |
RealScout Open House Info Viewed | Contact clicks to view open house times or requests open house information |
RealScout Email Validation Failed | The contact's email address is invalid |
RealScout Email Rejected | The contact's email bounced and is now blocked from receiving emails |
RealScout Email Spam Reported | The contact reported a RealScout email as spam — their email is now blocked |
Actionable Tags
Actionable Tags give you a way to trigger a contact status change in RealScout by applying a tag — either manually or through a CRM automation. Apply these tags to a contact in RealScout or push them via your CRM integration to trigger the corresponding action.
Tag Name | What It Does |
RealScout Archive Contact | Moves the contact to Archived status, disabling all alerts and Auto Nurture |
RealScout Disable All Alerts | Turns off all alert types for the contact (Listing, Home Value Alert, Market Activity Alert) |
RealScout Disable Listing Alerts | Turns off only Listing Alerts — Home Value Alerts and Market Activity Alerts remain active |
The Errors Column
The Errors column on your Contacts page shows the email delivery status for each contact. This column does not sync to CRMs — it is visible only in RealScout. The corresponding RealScout Tags (Email Validation Failed, Email Rejected, Email Spam Reported) do sync to connected CRMs.
Error Status | What It Means |
Spam Address | A contact with this email reported spam. The email is blocked system-wide — this contact will not receive emails from any agent in RealScout. |
Email Bounced | This email address has bounced in the system and is now blocked. |
Email Invalid | The email address is invalid and will not receive emails. |
Clean Up Your Contact List Using Tags and Errors
Use the Errors column and RealScout Tags together to bulk-archive contacts with email problems, which improves deliverability and reduces your Nurtured Contact count.
Go to realscout.com/agent/contacts.
In the Errors column, identify contacts with Spam Address, Email Bounced, or Email Invalid statuses.
Check the box next to each affected contact.
Click More Actions and choose Archive.
For a contact with a suspected error on a valid email address, click their name to open their profile — an override option may be available if the email passed secondary validation.
