Connecting Cloze to RealScout keeps your contacts in sync between both platforms and makes it easier to manage lead engagement without switching back and forth. After connecting, you choose whether RealScout imports all Cloze contacts or only contacts with specific tags, then optionally run a one-time backfill to bring in existing contacts immediately.
Before You Start
You need access to both your RealScout agent account and your Cloze account. If you plan to use tag-based importing, review these rules before setting up tags in Cloze:
Tags are case-insensitive — "RealScout" and "realscout" are treated the same.
Tags cannot include spaces — use an underscore instead (for example,
Hot_Leads).The
RealScouttag is the default tag and cannot be removed from the import rules.Contacts sent from RealScout to Cloze automatically receive the
RealScouttag in Cloze for easier organization.
Step 1: Open the Cloze Integration in RealScout
Log in to your RealScout agent account.
Go to Integrations.
Find Cloze and click Connect Cloze Account.
Tip: If you are already logged in to Cloze in the same browser, the authorization flow is faster — you can approve without re-entering credentials.
Step 2: Authorize the Cloze Connection
Sign in to Cloze if prompted.
Review the permissions screen showing what access RealScout is requesting.
Click Approve to complete the connection.
Note: You must approve the permissions request for the integration to work. Declining cancels the connection.
Step 3: Choose How Contacts Import from Cloze
After connecting, go to Contact Import Settings in the Cloze integration. You have two options:
Option A: Only import tagged contacts (recommended for most teams)
Select Only import contacts from Cloze that have matching tags.
Add any additional tags beyond the default
RealScouttag that you want RealScout to accept.
Use this option when you want precise control — only contacts explicitly tagged in Cloze enter RealScout. Ideal when you don't want your entire Cloze database syncing to RealScout automatically.
Option B: Import all contacts
Select Import all contacts from Cloze into your RealScout account, regardless of tags.
Caution: Importing all contacts is irreversible for the contacts that come in during the "Import All" period. Switching to tag-based importing later does not automatically remove contacts already imported. Only choose this option if you want your entire Cloze database in RealScout.
Step 4: Backfill Existing Contacts (Optional)
The ongoing sync only imports contacts going forward — it does not automatically pull in contacts that already existed in Cloze when you connected. To bring existing contacts in immediately:
In the Cloze integration settings, click Back Fill Contacts.
Note: Backfill is a one-time import action. It applies your current Contact Import Settings — if you are on tag-based importing, only tagged contacts are backfilled. Your ongoing import behavior is always controlled by Contact Import Settings, not by the backfill.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Cloze tags need to match capitalization exactly?
No. Cloze tags are case-insensitive in the RealScout integration. A contact tagged "REALSCOUT," "RealScout," or "realscout" in Cloze is treated identically. Capitalization does not matter — spelling does.
Can I remove the default RealScout tag from the import rules?
No. The RealScout tag is the default import tag and cannot be removed. You can add other tags to broaden the import criteria, but RealScout will always be included as an accepted tag. Any contact in Cloze tagged RealScout will import into RealScout.
If I switch from "Import all contacts" to tag-based importing, will previously imported contacts be removed from RealScout?
No. Contacts that were imported during the "Import all contacts" period remain in RealScout. Switching to tag-based importing changes the rule for future syncs only — it does not retroactively remove contacts already in your account. To remove specific contacts, you can archive them manually from your Contacts list at realscout.com/agent/contacts.
What should I do immediately after connecting?
Set your Contact Import Settings to either tag-based or all-contacts mode, then click Back Fill Contacts if you want existing Cloze contacts imported right away. After that, the integration runs automatically in the background — new contacts in Cloze that meet your import criteria sync to RealScout without any additional steps.
Can I use Auto Nurture with my synced Cloze contacts?
Yes. Once contacts sync from Cloze to RealScout, Auto Nurture treats them the same as any other contacts in your account. If Auto Nurture is active, newly synced Cloze contacts are enrolled based on your Auto Nurture mode settings.
