Reverse Prospecting - How to access on RealScout

Learn how to use RealScout Reverse Prospecting to find agents with matching buyers, claim your listing, send outreach messages, and boost listing visibility.

Reverse Prospecting is part of your RealScout Marketing:

Reverse Prospecting allows you to identify buyer agents whose buyer(s) may have search criteria matching your listing. Use this to gain insights into aggregated homebuyer activity across RealScout and reach out directly to agents with matching buyers to promote your listing.

How to Access:

If you are a Listing Agent and currently have an active, coming soon or contingent listing, go to the Marketing tab on your side bar to find My Listings.

After claiming your listing, open the listing page and click the Reverse Prospecting button to access the tool. Review the list of agents whose buyers’ search criteria align with your listing and analyze buyer preferences to better understand market demand.

Please note that listings under another agent's name are not eligible for Reverse Prospecting unless you are a co-agent.

Once claimed, you can use our Reverse Prospecting button to get started.

Use the tool to view the list of agents with matching buyers, analyze buyer activity, and send personalized outreach messages to promote your listing.

Note: Reverse Prospecting requires listings to have an active status on RealScout/your MLS.

  • Off-market or pre-market homes are ineligible.

  • Use RealScout's Test the Market report for a preview option.

Using RealScout Reverse Prospecting as a Listing Agent:

With Reverse Prospecting, you can identify agents in your market who may have buyers that match your listing. Reach out to them to get your listing in front of the most relevant buyers.

Analyze the list of agents with matching buyers and send personalized messages to engage them. Use the insights provided to refine your outreach strategy and track responses effectively.

Tips

  • Personalize your messages to highlight how your listing meets the needs of the buyers.

  • Follow up with agents who show interest to build stronger connections.

  • Use the insights provided by Reverse Prospecting to refine your marketing strategy.

  • If a listing is not showing as expected, claimable, or active after updating on your MLS/member portal: use the support button in your account to share the MLS Printout and/or the current URL/public link showing the full details.
