How to Set Up, Monitor, and Capture Leads with Home Value Alerts

How to create Home Value Alerts for contacts, share a "What's My Home Worth?" lead capture link, and monitor engagement from your Home Value Alerts Dashboard.

Home Value Alerts keep your contacts engaged with automated property valuations sent directly to their inbox — and they double as a seller lead capture tool. Here's how to set them up, monitor engagement, and capture new contacts using your "What's My Home Worth?" link.

Alerts send the next day by default. Once a Home Value Alert is created, the first send is queued for the following day. Use the manual send option for immediate delivery.

Set up a Home Value Alert for a contact

  1. Click Create New Alert.

  2. Select the contact from your existing contacts list.

  3. Enter their property address and click Create Home Value Alert.

  4. Optional: Customize and preview the valuation layout before creating.

You can also set the frequency of the alerts (for example, monthly or quarterly) to suit the contact's preferences.

Contacts can also set up Home Value Alerts on their own through your home search site. When they do, notifications are automatically sent to both the contact and you.

Capture new seller leads

  1. Log in to your RealScout account.

  2. Navigate to the Email Alerts section from the main menu.

  3. Select Home Value Alerts and click Capture Leads: What's My Home Worth?

  4. A window appears displaying the shareable "What's My Home Worth?" link. Click Copy link to clipboard.

  5. Share the link via email, text, your website, or social media.

  6. Save it to a personal note or email it to yourself with a memorable subject line for easy re-access.

When a homeowner submits their address through this link, they're added to your RealScout contacts and automatically enrolled in a Home Value Alert.

Tips for promoting the shareable link

  • Promote on social media — share the link on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to reach a wider audience.

  • Include in email campaigns — add the link to your email newsletters or marketing campaigns to engage potential leads.

  • Embed on your website — use the link to create a button or banner on your website for easy access.

Monitor your alerts

Your Home Value Alerts Dashboard shows engagement metrics including emails delivered, emails opened, and dashboard views. A "dashboard view" means the contact opened the email and viewed their full valuation report. Click any property address to see detailed activity for that specific home.

When a contact clicks Request Valuation Estimate within an alert, you receive a notification email and see the request in your Recent Client Conversations. At that point, you can manually resend the valuation or provide additional information.

How Home Value Alerts differ from Market Activity Alerts

Home Value Alerts function independently from Market Activity Alerts. Disabling Market Alerts for specific areas or zip codes does not affect the delivery of Home Value Alerts, which continue updating contacts automatically.

Best practices

  • Treat Home Value Alert activity as a signal — dashboard views and valuation requests are strong indicators of seller intent.

  • Follow up promptly when contacts request a valuation estimate or initiate property discussions.

  • Use the alerts to monitor contact readiness for more active property discussions.
