Understanding Nurtured Contacts
A Nurtured Contact is any contact in RealScout who has had at least one nurture tool applied — most commonly a Listing Alert, Home Value Alert, Market Activity Alert, Contact Enrichment, Scout Score, or a contact who has engaged with your site by logging into their profile.
What Counts as a Nurtured Contact?
✅ Counts as Nurtured — These contacts count toward your account limit
Auto Nurture: RealScout automatically chooses and sends the best alerts for each contact. You turn it on, we handle the rest.
Manual Nurture Setup: You pick which alerts or features each contact gets (Listings, Home Values, Market Updates, Contact Enrichment, Scout Score). RealScout sends alerts to your contacts automatically.
Captured Leads: Anyone who signs up through your RealScout links or lead capture pages. They're using RealScout services, so they count — even if you haven't set up ongoing alerts for them yet.
❌ Doesn't Count — These contacts don't count toward your account limit
Archived Contacts: You've paused their alerts. They stay in your database but aren't receiving anything from us.
Awaiting Nurture: Contacts saved in your account but not yet connected to any alerts, campaigns, or forms. They're waiting for you to activate nurture.
Overage Contacts: Contacts added after reaching your Nurtured Contact limit. They appear in the Overages tab and don't receive automated alerts until space is freed or NCPs are added.
Managing Nurtured Contact Capacity
When you approach or exceed your account's contact limit, you have two options:
Option 1: Purchase Nurtured Contact Packs (NCPs)
NCPs let you continue nurturing additional contacts beyond your plan limit. Each pack adds capacity for 500 more nurtured contacts at $9.99/month — just $0.02 per contact.
Option 2: Archive Contacts
Focus your nurturing budget on your most engaged prospects by archiving less active contacts. Archived contacts remain in your database permanently but stop receiving all alerts and campaigns.
Go to Contacts
Navigate to your RealScout dashboard and click Contacts in the main menu.Go to Nurtured Contacts
Click the tab labeled Nurtured to see all your Nurtured Contacts.Select the Contact(s)
Click the checkbox for the contacts you'd like to archive.Archive
Click More Actions in the top right corner, then select Archive.
💡 Pro Tip: We recommend archiving contacts who haven't opened an email or clicked an alert in 90+ days. Focus your active nurturing budget on your most engaged prospects.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do manually configured contacts count as nurtured?
Why do manually configured contacts count as nurtured?
Whether you use Auto Nurture or manually configure alerts, RealScout works continuously on your behalf to help you stay in touch, follow up consistently, and convert more of your database into deals. We do this by enriching contact data, providing engagement scores, and sending listing alerts, market updates, home value reports, and your branded content.
The setup method doesn't change the value delivered. Both approaches count as "nurtured" because RealScout is actively working to move these contacts through your pipeline toward conversion.
What's the benefit of adding NCPs instead of archiving?
What's the benefit of adding NCPs instead of archiving?

Archiving pauses RealScout's engagement but keeps the contact in your database.
Deleting permanently removes them from your account.

What happens when an account exceeds the Nurtured Contact limit?
New contacts added after reaching your limit will be placed in the Overages tab and will not receive automated emails. RealScout won't stop alerts for existing nurtured contacts, but it will pause new alerts for overage contacts until you free up space or add NCPs.
We recommend adding NCPs proactively to avoid missing opportunities with new leads.
How do I resolve overages?

Add NCPs — Go to Billing Settings and purchase additional Nurtured Contact Packs.
Archive contacts — Identify contacts in the Nurtured tab who are no longer active and archive them.

I'm part of a brokerage — does my brokerage pay for NCPs?
I'm part of a brokerage — does my brokerage pay for NCPs?
It depends on what your brokerage covers. Most brokerages cover their agents' RealScout subscription, but agents purchase NCPs directly if they want to nurture more contacts than their included limit.
Can I cancel NCPs anytime?
Can I cancel NCPs anytime?
Yes. You can adjust your NCP quantity at any time. If you reduce your NCPs below your current usage, you'll need to archive contacts to stay within your new limit. Any nurtured contacts above that limit will move to your Overages tab and be paused from nurturing. We recommend managing this carefully to keep your most valuable prospects active.
