How to Use the RealScout Messaging Tab as a Client

The RealScout client portal includes a built-in messaging tab where you can read messages from your agent, reply with text, attach listings from your saved lists, and track your full conversation history in one place.


How It Works

The messaging tab displays your full conversation with your agent in a familiar chat layout:

  • Agent messages appear on the left side of the conversation

  • Your messages appear on the right side in blue

  • When your agent sends two or more listings at once, those listings are grouped together in a single message. A scroll option appears on the right side of the grouped message so you can browse all included listings without leaving the conversation.

  • You can click directly on any listing photo inside a message to open the full listing details page.

  • After viewing a listing, you can return to the message thread and enter questions or feedback for your agent.

  • Sending a message does not interrupt your browsing. You can continue exploring the portal while your message delivers.


Step-by-Step Instructions

Reading and Replying to Messages

  1. Open your RealScout client portal and navigate to the Messages tab.

  2. Review messages from your agent on the left side of the conversation.

  3. If your agent sent multiple listings in one message, use the scroll option on the right side of that message to browse all listings in the group.

  4. Click any listing photo to open the listing details page and view full property information.

  5. To reply, type your message or feedback in the text field at the bottom of the conversation.

  6. Click the blue Send Message button to send your reply.

Attaching Listings to Your Message

  1. In the message input area, click the house icon with a plus sign located at the bottom of the message field.

  2. A panel will open showing three lists you can browse:

    • Interested List

    • Matched List

    • Viewed Homes List

  3. Click the plus icon next to any listing you want to attach to your message.

  4. To remove a listing before sending, click the red X next to that listing in your selection.

  5. Once your selection is final, type an optional message or leave the text field empty.

  6. Click the blue Send Message button to send the attached listings to your agent.

  7. Scroll up in the conversation to confirm the message was sent. Attached listings will appear in the thread along with any text you included.


Common Questions and Edge Cases

Can I send a message without attaching any listings?
Yes. Typing a message and clicking Send Message works without any listing attachments.

Can I attach just one listing?
Yes. You can attach one or more listings. If you change your mind after selecting multiple, use the red X to remove any listings before sending.

What happens after I send a message?
The message appears immediately in your conversation thread. You can continue browsing the portal while waiting for your agent to respond.

Can I click on listings inside my agent's messages?
Yes. Click directly on any listing photo in a message to open the full listing details page.

Where do grouped listings appear in the conversation?
When your agent sends two or more listings at once, they are combined into a single message. A scroll option on the right side of that message lets you move through all included listings.
