At RealScout, we process all incoming data from email providers and follow industry standards to ensure we filter out any "machine/bot opens" to make open rates as accurate as possible, but there are no guarantees. A common issue across the email industry is that open rates may never be entirely exact.
In recent years, new privacy tools, such as computers or privacy tools (like Apple Mail), make it look like someone opened your email, even if they didn’t. For example, when an email contains an image, it may register as opened when the image loads, regardless of whether the recipient (human) opens or views the email.
What's a better way to track if someone is genuinely engaging with your emails?
Look for actions or monitor other activity on your email or the Recent Activity page, Dashboard, or Messages section of RealScout, such as:
- Did the contact reply to the email?
- Did the contact send you a message on RealScout?
- Did the contact click a call-to-action button?
- Did the contact click "interested" or "not interested" on a listing they viewed?
