Set Up Your RealScout Profile Before You Use the Mobile Apps

Your profile is what clients see in the RealScout apps. Set your photo, logo, phone, social links, and default map location on the website before you start.

Your RealScout profile is not just an internal record. It is what your clients see inside the Home Search app, on every listing you send, and on the alert emails that go out with your name on them. Set it up on the website before you start working from your phone.

Two of these settings cannot be changed from the mobile apps at all, so this is a one-time desktop pass that saves you from fixing things later.

Where to find it

Go to Account Settings, or click your name in the upper right corner of RealScout and open your profile. You will land on the Profile tab, alongside Settings, Notification Settings, and Billing.

What to set, and why each one matters

Profile photo

Click Update Photo. This is the image your clients see on the My Agent screen in the RealScout Home Search app, next to the Call, Text, and Email buttons. A missing photo is visibly missing to them.

Profile details

Under Profile Details, click Edit and confirm your name, email, and phone number. There are secondary email and secondary phone fields if you use them. Your phone number is what the Call and Text buttons in the client app dial, so an out-of-date number means a client taps Call and reaches nothing.

License and company details

Under License & Company Details, click Edit and add your license number and brokerage information. Your license displays on the client's My Agent screen.

Brokerage logo

Upload your company or brokerage logo. It appears alongside your name in the client app and on your branded pages.

Website and social profile links

Under Website & Social Profile Links, add your website and your social profiles, such as Instagram and Facebook. These give a client a way to check you out without leaving the experience you sent them into.

Default Map Location, the one people miss

The Default Map Location panel sits on the right side of your Profile tab. Type an address or a city into the field and select it.

This setting does more than you would expect. It centers your Contact Map Search page and your Agent Search page, it becomes the starting point for searches in both the website and the mobile app, and RealScout uses it for Auto Nurture on contacts that have no relevant activity data yet.

If the app opens somewhere you do not work, this is why. Your default location is often set from your MLS or your office address rather than the area you actually market to. Change it here, on the website. It cannot be changed from the mobile app.

What you cannot do from the app

Keep these on your desktop list:

  • Editing your profile, photo, logo, or contact details

  • Changing your Default Map Location

  • Editing the filter criteria on a saved search, though the schedule can be changed in the app

  • Editing an existing Home Value Alert, though a new one can be created in the app

Check your work from the client's side

Once you have the apps installed, open the RealScout Home Search app and look at the My Agent screen. That is exactly what your client sees: your photo, name, license, brokerage logo, and the Call, Text, and Email buttons. If anything looks blank or wrong there, it is blank or wrong for them too.

Common questions

Do I have to do this before downloading the apps?
No, but do it before you send anything to a client. The apps will work with an incomplete profile; your client will just see the gaps.

Why does my app keep opening to the wrong city?
Your Default Map Location is set to your MLS or office location rather than your marketing area. Update it on the Profile tab of Account Settings. It cannot be changed from the app.

Does changing my default location affect searches I already saved?
It changes the starting point for new searches, including in the app and for links you share. Searches you have already saved to a contact keep the criteria you set on them.
