Help for your Contacts: How to Whitelist RealScout Emails

Tips on how to add realscout.com to Safe Senders, mark Not Junk/Spam, and common email provider whitelisting steps so you get your agent's messages and property alerts from RealScout.

Updated yesterday

What is Email Whitelisting? Why is it important?

Whitelisting tells your email provider that emails from your RealScout agents are safe to receive and should always be delivered to your inbox.

By whitelisting RealScout, you're giving your agent's notifications permission to land in your email inbox, preventing them from being blocked or filtered to spam folders when you get messages, alerts, or updates from them through RealScout.

Quick ways to whitelist immediately on most email providers:

  1. Mark as Not Spam – If you find a RealScout email in your spam folder, mark it as "Not Spam" or "Not Junk"

  2. Add to Contacts – Save your agent's RealScout sender email address to your contacts

  3. Domain whitelisting: add realscout.com to your approved senders using your email provider's whitelisting steps (see below)

FAQ

Q: Will whitelisting expose me to spam from other marketing sources?
A: No. Whitelisting only applies to RealScout emails. You're not adding email addresses to receive more emails—you're telling your provider to trust an existing sender.

Q: Do I need to whitelist if I've added RealScout to my contacts?
A: Adding to contacts helps, but whitelisting is more reliable. Both together provide the best protection.

Q: How long does whitelisting take to work?
A: Usually immediately, but it can take up to 24 hours for some email providers to process the change.

Q: What if my corporate/school/company email blocks everything by default?
A: This is likely due to IT policies preventing or reducing marketing emails. They control email filtering and will need to whitelist realscout.com at the server level, though it's often quicker to provide your RealScout agent a secondary/additional personal email.

Q: Can I whitelist a domain instead of individual emails?
A: Yes! Whitelisting the domain realscout.com applies to all RealScout senders and is the recommended approach.

Q: Why am I not getting RealScout emails even after whitelisting?
A: Email filtering involves multiple factors, please reach out to your agent and CC support@realscout.com if this initial troubleshooting didn't resolve this.
