Which Tags Does RealScout Use with Follow Up Boss?

RealScout automatically adds tags to Follow Up Boss contacts for engagement signals, email delivery issues, and spam reports. Learn which tags are applied, what each means, and how to use actionable tags to archive contacts or disable alerts.

Here's a helpful video going over how you can use these Actionable tags to clean up your database:

RealScout sends specific tags to Follow Up Boss across three categories: engagement signals you can act on, email health flags for database cleanup, and actionable tags you apply in Follow Up Boss to control what happens in RealScout.

Tags are spelling-sensitive but not case-sensitive. RealScout HVA Viewed, realscout hva viewed, and REALSCOUT HVA VIEWED are treated identically. A single character difference will stall any automation built on the tag.

How tags work between RealScout and Follow Up Boss

Every time RealScout pushes activity data to Follow Up Boss, it applies the base tag RealScout to the contact profile. This tag confirms the contact is connected to RealScout and receiving data from the integration.

Beyond the base tag, RealScout applies additional tags automatically based on contact behavior and email delivery status. These tags appear on the Follow Up Boss contact profile and can be used as filters in Smart Lists, Action Plan triggers, or daily contact prioritization.

Engagement tags

RealScout applies these tags to a Follow Up Boss contact profile when the corresponding activity event occurs. They are the primary signal layer for identifying high-intent contacts.

Tag

When RealScout applies it

RealScout HVA Viewed

Contact opens and views their Home Value Alert

RealScout HVA Valuation Message

Contact sends a message from their Home Value Alert page and the HVA is attached to the message

RealScout Market Activity Viewed

Contact opens and views a Market Activity Alert

RealScout Property Saved

Contact saves (favorites) a listing

RealScout Property Viewed 3+

Contact views the same listing three or more times

RealScout Message Sent

Contact sends any message through RealScout

RealScout Showing Request Message

Contact clicks the showing request button on a listing

RealScout Open House Info Viewed

Contact clicks to view open house times or requests open house information

How to use engagement tags in Follow Up Boss: Build a Smart List filtered to contacts with RealScout Property Viewed 3+ or RealScout Showing Request Message. This surfaces your warmest contacts daily without opening RealScout. The list auto-populates as tags are applied. See FUB Smart Lists for RealScout for setup instructions.

Email health tags

RealScout applies these tags when an email delivery event blocks future sends to a contact. They identify contacts who need attention before they can receive alerts.

Tag

What it means

What to do

RealScout Email Validation Failed

The contact's email address is invalid — format check failed

Correct the email address on the contact profile

RealScout Email Rejected

The contact's email bounced and is now blocked from receiving RealScout emails

Verify the email address is correct; if correct, the contact must email support@realscout.com to be removed from the suppression list

RealScout Email Spam Reported

The contact marked a RealScout email as spam; their email is now blocked

The contact must email support@realscout.com directly to restore delivery; you cannot override this on their behalf

Note: A contact tagged RealScout Email Rejected or RealScout Email Spam Reported will not receive any RealScout alerts until they request reinstatement through Member Support. Correcting the email address in Follow Up Boss or RealScout does not automatically restore delivery for spam-reported contacts.

Actionable tags

These are tags you apply in Follow Up Boss to trigger an action in RealScout. Unlike the engagement and email tags above, these go in the opposite direction: you add the tag, and RealScout responds.

Tag to apply in Follow Up Boss

What RealScout does when it detects the tag

RealScout Archive Contact

Archives the contact in RealScout — stops all alerts and moves them to Archived status

RealScout Disable All Alerts

Disables all active alerts for the contact (Listing Alerts, Home Value Alerts, Market Activity Alerts) without archiving the contact

RealScout Disable Listing Alerts

Disables only Listing Alerts for the contact; Home Value Alerts and Market Activity Alerts remain active

When to use actionable tags:

Use RealScout Archive Contact for contacts who have closed, opted out, or are no longer relevant. Archiving removes them from your active contact count and stops all email sends.

Use RealScout Disable All Alerts when you want to pause all alert delivery temporarily — for example, while a client is in contract and not actively searching — without moving them to Archived.

Use RealScout Disable Listing Alerts for contacts who are sellers or homeowners and should receive Home Value Alerts but not buyer-facing listing emails.

Caution. Applying RealScout Disable All Alerts stops every alert type immediately. If the contact is a homeowner still expecting their Home Value Alert, use RealScout Disable Listing Alerts instead. Review the contact's active alerts before applying either tag.

RealScout checks for these tags on an hourly cycle. After applying an actionable tag in Follow Up Boss, allow up to one hour for the change to take effect in RealScout.
