Editing Your Contact's Info in RealScout

How to edit a contact's name, email address, phone number, and other profile details in RealScout. Covers primary email updates, secondary email, and what happens when you change an email address.

You can edit a contact's name, email, phone, tags, source, and notes directly from their profile page in RealScout. Keeping contact info accurate is important for email deliverability — alerts go to the email address on file, so an outdated or misspelled address means missed notifications.

Using Follow Up Boss? When Contact Sync is active, Follow Up Boss is the system of record. Update the contact's email and name in Follow Up Boss — changes made in FUB overwrite the corresponding fields in RealScout on the next sync. Edits made directly in RealScout will be overwritten.


Edit a Contact's Profile Info

  1. Go to realscout.com/agent/contacts and open the contact's profile by clicking their name.

  2. Click the pencil icon (edit) next to their name or in the contact details section.

  3. Update the fields you want to change: name, email, phone number, tags, source, or notes.

  4. Click Save to apply the changes.


Update a Contact's Email Address

Email is the primary identifier RealScout uses to send alerts and track engagement. If a contact's email address changes, update it as soon as possible to avoid alert delivery gaps.

  1. Open the contact's profile and click the pencil icon.

  2. Clear the current email address and type the new one.

  3. Click Save.

Adding a secondary email: RealScout supports a secondary email address per contact — useful when a contact has both a personal and a work email. Alerts go to the primary email only; the secondary email is for reference and does not receive alert sends. To add one, open the contact's profile, click the pencil icon, and look for the secondary email field below the primary email input.
