How to Set Up the Meta (Facebook) Pixel Integration in RealScout

Connect your Meta (Facebook) Pixel to RealScout to track visitors on your search pages and build retargeting audiences in Meta Ads Manager. Step-by-step setup, verification options, and FAQ.

Connect a Meta (Facebook) Pixel to your RealScout search pages to track visitor activity, build retargeting audiences in Meta Ads Manager, and measure the performance of your Facebook and Instagram campaigns.

This integration requires an active Meta Business account and permission to manage data sources in Meta Events Manager. If you are running ads through a third-party service and have already set up a Pixel, read the shared Pixel section below before creating a new one.

RealScout only needs your Pixel ID — no code installation. Once saved, the Pixel fires a PageView event when a visitor loads your search pages. It does not read listing content, photos, or visitor contact information.

Create a Pixel in Meta Events Manager

If you already have a Pixel you want to use, skip to the next section.

Each Meta Business account can only have one web dataset (Pixel) by default. Before creating a new one, log in to Meta Events Manager and check whether one already exists under Data Sources.

  1. Go to Meta Events Manager and log in with your Meta Business account

  2. Click Connect Data

  3. Select Web and click Next

  4. Click Create new dataset and click Next

  5. Enter a name for your Pixel — use something specific, such as "RealScout — YourName" so you can identify it later

  6. Click Create

Meta will prompt you to choose an installation method. For RealScout, you do not need to install code. You only need the Pixel ID from the next step.

Copy your Pixel ID

  1. In Events Manager, locate your Pixel under Data Sources

  2. Click on the Pixel name to open its details

  3. Copy the Pixel ID — a 15–16 digit number shown at the top of the Pixel details page

Add the Pixel ID to RealScout

  1. Log in to your RealScout account

  2. Locate the Facebook Pixel Tracking ID section

  3. Paste your Pixel ID into the field

  4. Click Save

Once saved, the Pixel fires a PageView event whenever a visitor loads your RealScout search pages, including Search Links you have shared.

If you already use a Pixel for another ad service

Meta limits each Business account to one web dataset by default. If you have already set up a Pixel for a service like StreetText, AgentFire, or another ad platform, you have two options.

When to use

What to do

Reuse your existing Pixel

Your ad partner approves sharing the same Pixel across platforms

Copy your existing Pixel ID and paste it into the RealScout integration field. Confirm with your ad partner that reusing the Pixel will not affect their campaign tracking.

Create a separate dataset

You need to keep tracking data isolated per platform

Create a new dataset under a separate Meta Business or ad account in Events Manager.

RealScout does not require code-level installation — you only need the Pixel ID. If you are unsure which option applies, check with your ad partner before making changes.

Verify the Pixel is working

Option 1: Test Events in Meta Events Manager

  1. Open Events Manager and select your Pixel

  2. Click Test Events

  3. Open your RealScout Search Link in a separate browser window

  4. Return to Events Manager and confirm a PageView event appears in the activity log

Option 2: Meta Pixel Helper (Chrome extension)

  1. Install Meta Pixel Helper from the Chrome Web Store

  2. Open your RealScout Search Link in Chrome

  3. Click the extension icon and confirm your Pixel ID appears with a PageView event

Caution. Ad blockers and browser privacy settings may prevent the Pixel from firing during testing. Test in a standard Chrome window without extensions enabled, or use a private window with Meta Pixel Helper as the only active extension.
