How to Add or Edit Additional Contact Emails in RealScout

Give couples, partners, or co-buyers visibility into listing alerts and property updates & without creating duplicate contacts. RealScout makes it easy to copy (CC) multiple recipients on alerts by adding them to a single contact profile.

Quick Steps:

  1. Open the Contacts tab or search for your Contact.

  2. Go to Contact Details and click Edit in the Additional Contacts section.

  3. Add email addresses, separated by commas.

  4. Click Save Changes.

  5. All added emails will receive alerts, and will use the primary email to log in to the RealScout site/app.

Using Follow Up Boss? When Contact Sync is active, Follow Up Boss is the system of record. Update the contact's email and name in Follow Up Boss — changes made in FUB overwrite the corresponding fields in RealScout on the next sync. Edits made directly in RealScout will be overwritten.

Updates the display name on the contact's profile and in alert emails

Required. All alerts and activity tracking use this address

Secondary email

Optional. Will receive email alert copies. They will not have their own profile login; only the primary contact has access to the RealScout profile

Phone number

Optional. Used for reference; RealScout does not send SMS

Tags

Adding a tag that matches a Template will automatically assign that Template to the contact and other actions if using actionable tags

Written Step-by-Step: Add Additional Emails to a Contact

1. Open the Contact’s Profile

  • Click the Contacts tab in the left-hand navigation or search for them

  • Select the Contact’s Name to open their profile

  • Navigate to the Contact Details tab

2. Add Additional Email Addresses

3. Save Your Changes

  • Click Save Changes to save

  • All emails listed will now receive copies of RealScout alerts

Make any additional changes necessary as you scroll down to add Commutes or reminders for yourself, such as what your clients like.


How Alerts and Login Work

  • Alerts: All additional emails will be cc’d on new property alerts and market updates

  • Login Access: Only the primary email can be used to log in

  • Additional recipients do not get their own RealScout logins

  • Everyone logs in using the primary contact’s email and password

  • If a password reset is needed, it must be sent to the primary email address.

  • All additional contacts will be cc’d on alerts and notifications to ensure they stay informed.


Tips for Best Results

  • Always use valid email formatting and double-check for typos

  • If recipients don’t receive alerts, ask them to check their spam or promotions folder

  • For mobile access, everyone must use the same shared login tied to the primary email.

  • Share the app using your custom app invite link (embedded in every email by default) and all users can sign in with the primary/shared login. See "How to invite using the RealScout Agent App" for tips on this.- If you encounter a failure notice when adding an email, check for typos or missing parts in the address (e.g., missing '.com').

  • Security Tip: Limit shared access to trusted individuals to maintain account security, as all actions within the app are tied to the primary account.

  • Account Management: Be aware that notifications, alerts, and activity logs will reflect the primary account holder's details.
