Tags are not case-sensitive
Any matching tag between contact and template will create an alert

Suggestions for when to use Listing Alert Templates vs. Market Alert Templates, or both:
Listing Alert Templates
Create templates for common buyer types or search profiles. These are examples:
First-time buyers (affordable homes, condos)
Move-up buyers (larger homes, good schools)
Luxury buyers (high-end properties)
Investment buyers (multi-family, rental potential)
Add corresponding tags. These tags are up to you, but please note these should match the spelling conventions you will us on Follow Up Boss. (This is covered in ‘Tag Naming Conventions and Organization’ below)
Add location-specific tags, or specific/unique tags rather than “general” tags.
For Seller Leads or Leads who need additional insights:
Market Activity Alert Templates
Create templates for seller-focused areas:
Neighborhood-specific market reports
Price range restrictions are optional but can be used to help focus the buyer activity.
Less-frequent than a “daily search” but includes:
RealScout’s # of Active Buyers & Interactions for an agent-defined location
Areas with Popular Listings
Active Buyers Over Time
Top Viewed Listings
Popular Active Listings
Recently Sold Listings
Recently Listed / Updated Listings
Add corresponding tags, ensuring these are different from tags you might be using with Listing Alert Templates.
For Long-Term Nurture
Create Market Alert templates and/or Listing Alert templates :
Market Alerts offer popular listings and RealScout buyer demand insights.
Listing Alerts can be set to a weekly or monthly schedule, or hand-picked too: Alert Settings & Schedule Overview
Tag Naming Conventions and Organization
Recommended Structure
Don’t include a hyphen or underscore, or other special character unless you are using that on FUB. For example, a “space” would not be entered in as an underscore “_”:
RealScout cannot combine tags, so you would add a template-specific tag in FUB.
For example, if you have a tag associated with a specific type of template, such as a “buyer new construction”:
RealScout cannot combine FUB tags like “Buyer” & “New Construction”
Using FUB, you would still need to add a “buyer new construction” tag.
FUB Admins and Account Owners can set up Action Plans for adding tags (guidance here)
Organization Tips
Be consistent: Establish naming rules or verify how you’ll use tags in Follow Up Boss and follow those naming conventions in RealScout.
Remember that FUB can add tags with spaces, so you are not required to use underscores or hyphens.
Keep it simple and don’t use a “general buyer” tag: That’s where you can use Auto Nurture by tags:

Regular cleanup: Review and clean up contacts as needed. FAQ: Cleaning Up Your RealScout Contacts List
Common Tag-Related Issues and Solutions
Issue: Alerts Not Being Created
Possible causes and solutions:
Timing: RealScout’s system checks hourly to add tags
If tags are added via FUB integrations/automations or action plans, those tags will sync to RealScout but may experience an additional ~20-60 minute delay in triggering a RealScout template.
Tag mismatch: Verify exact spelling between contact and template tags. Capitalization does NOT matter in tags.
Issue: FUB Tags Not Syncing with RealScout
Possible causes and solutions:
Integration settings: Check your RealScout integration configuration to ensure your Contact Import settings allow for your newly-tagged lead to sync over, or email support@realscout.com
Sync timing: Allow for sync delays between systems (a few moments for agent-updated FUB contacts; longer for automation-related updates)
If your tag has been added and an associated template has not been automatically set up in the expected automated timeline: please email support@realscout.com with a screenshot of the FUB contact, their tags, and reference the RealScout template (name or tag)
