How to Edit a Saved Alert

This article explains how clients can edit an existing Saved Alert in RealScout, including updating search filters and adjusting email alert schedules. Changes take effect immediately after saving.
How It Works
A Saved Alert runs your stored search criteria against new and updated MLS listings. When a match is found, RealScout sends you an email notification. Editing the alert updates the criteria and schedule used for all future notifications. Past notifications are not affected.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Edit a Saved Alert
Log in to your RealScout account.
Click Settings in the left-side navigation menu. A new window will open.
In the Settings window, you will see options to adjust your email alert schedule. Update the schedule if needed.
Click Edit Alert Settings. A new page will open displaying your current search filters.
Review each filter and make changes as needed. Editable fields include:
Location
Price range
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Property type
Additional search criteria
Once your edits are complete, click the blue Save Changes button located in the top right corner.
A confirmation pop-up will appear confirming your email alert has been updated.
Close the additional windows to return to your main account view.
Common Questions and Edge Cases
Can I update my email alert schedule and my search filters at the same time?
Yes. The Settings window allows you to adjust both the email alert schedule and the search filters in the same editing flow.
Will my changes apply to past notifications?
No. Edits only apply to future listing matches. Previously received alerts are not changed.
Can I have more than one Saved Alert?
Yes. RealScout supports multiple Saved Alerts per account. Each alert has its own filters and can be edited independently.
Can my agent edit my alert for me?
[Assumption] Agents may be able to manage alerts on a client's behalf from the agent dashboard. Refer to the related article "How to Edit an Existing Listing Alert" for the agent-side workflow.
Troubleshooting
I do not see the Save Changes button.
Scroll to the top right of the page. The blue Save Changes button is positioned in the top right corner of the alert editor.
If it is still not visible, try zooming out in your browser or switching to a different browser.
My changes did not save.
Confirm you clicked the blue Save Changes button before closing the window.
Navigating away before saving will discard your edits. Repeat the steps and save again.
I am not receiving alerts after editing.
Check that your updated filters are not too narrow. Broaden criteria such as price range or location to increase the number of matching listings.
Verify that your email alert schedule is set to active and not paused within the Settings window.
The confirmation pop-up did not appear.
This may indicate the save did not complete. Repeat the process and ensure the blue Save Changes button is clicked.
If the issue continues, clear your browser cache and try again.
