Auto Nurture Overview & Settings

Everything you need to know about Auto Nurture, and how to set it up and configure it

Auto Nurture automatically engages your entire contact database with Listing Alerts, Home Value Alerts, Market Activity Alerts, and an onboarding email sequence — so every contact gets a best-in-class experience with you at the center, and you're notified the moment one raises their hand.

Listing Alerts operate independently of Auto Nurture. Contacts continue to receive property updates through Listing Alerts even if Auto Nurture is disabled.

What Auto Nurture includes

  1. Email Alerts: Automatically sends relevant Listing Alerts, Home Value Alerts, and/or Market Activity Alerts to your contacts.

  2. Auto Updates: Search criteria update based on contact activity.

  3. Onboarding Email Sequence: If no data is associated with a contact's record, RealScout sends an email sequence that encourages them to add their address (to receive a Home Value Alert) or view properties (triggering the auto-creation of a Listing Alert). View the emails we'll send them here.

How Auto Nurture creates alerts automatically

Automatic Listing Alerts. If a contact record contains a viewed or inquired listing address, Auto Nurture creates a Listing Alert with the listing's zip code, the list price +20% and −30%, and the property type. The default schedule is Daily; contacts may receive up to 3 emails per week on match days (Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday).

Automatic Listing Alert Updates. Listing Alerts generated through Auto Nurture update once per day based on contact activity — expanding price range and location based on what the contact views and acts on.

Automatic Home Value Alerts. If a contact record contains an owned property address, Auto Nurture creates a Home Value Alert for that property. Sent monthly by default; frequency can be changed on your Home Value Alert settings page.

Automatic Market Activity Alerts. If the Home Value Alert valuation partner cannot return a valuation for the contact's address, the contact receives a Market Activity Alert for their property's zip code instead.

Automatic Onboarding Email Sequence. Every contact in Auto Nurture without an active alert receives the onboarding sequence. View the email sequence here.

NOTE: The listings in "Popular Homes in Your Area" emails are based on the most viewed listings within a 3, 5, 10, or 25-mile radius of your default map location, which can be updated on your Auto Nurture Settings.

Set up Auto Nurture

Watch this 10-minute training video that explains how to set up Auto Nurture:

Auto Nurture is fully configurable on the Auto Nurture page of your dashboard. You can also navigate to any contact's profile and toggle the Auto Nurture switch manually for individual setup.

When adding contacts, do so gradually and strategically. Avoid uploading large, unvetted lists to maintain high engagement rates and reduce spam reports.

Configure Auto Nurture settings

From the left-hand navigation bar, click Automations > Auto Nurture, then Update Settings:

Automation Status & Mode. If you turn Auto Nurture ON, your contacts will be engaged automatically. Which contacts are Auto Nurtured is determined by the Mode.

NOTE: You can manually turn Auto Nurture on for individual contacts on the contact manager without turning the automation ON.

  • Only apply Auto Nurture to tagged contacts — Only contacts with the specified tags will be Auto Nurtured. Tags can be applied manually or via an integration, such as Follow Up Boss (FUB).

  • Apply Auto Nurture to all new contacts — Turns on Auto Nurture for every new contact entering the system. Be careful — this mode will send emails automatically to everyone in your database.

Default Map Location & Radius. Auto Nurture sends "Popular Homes in Your Area" emails based on your location. Center the map on the specific location where you work:

Suppress Onboarding Email Sequence. To have Auto Nurture create Listing Alerts and/or Home Value Alerts from actionable data only, use the Suppress Drip Campaign toggle. "Actionable data" includes a price range and location for Listing Alerts, or an owned home address for Home Value Alerts.

Fallback Templates. If the onboarding email sequence is suppressed, a Fallback Alert is generated the following day if no actionable contact data is available. A Fallback Listing Alert and/or Fallback Market Alert also serves as a backup when Auto Nurture cannot generate an alert after several attempts, or a contact does not engage with the onboarding sequence. Scroll down to Fallback Templates and select your saved Alert Template from the dropdown.

Manage and disable Auto Nurture

To manage or disable Auto Nurture for a specific contact:

  1. Open the contact's profile from the Contacts page.

  2. Make sure the Auto Nurture switch is turned Off.

  3. Review all active alerts (e.g., Listing Alerts) and disable them from the profile if necessary.

For bulk management:

  • Go to the Nurture tab under the Contacts page.

  • Select the desired contacts, choose More Options, and click Archive. Archiving disables all RealScout alerts for those contacts, with an option to unarchive later.

Primary Email Verification. The first email address entered on a contact record is the primary email. Primary emails undergo a verification process; if found invalid, they are paused until updated and verified.

If contacts continue receiving alerts after Auto Nurture is disabled: previously delivered emails may still be opened (reflected in activity logs); standalone alerts such as Home Value Alerts or Listing Alerts operate independently and must be managed through their respective dashboards; if a contact marks your emails as spam, archive them before resuming communication.
