Step-by-step of the Various ways to Access and Create Templates
Dashboard:
The Market Activity Alert Dashboard will list all the Active or Disabled Market Activity Alerts. From here, you can start a new alert for a contact or save it as a template by clicking on the + Create New Alert button. You will see additional options by clicking on the three dots next to a saved alert. An action pop-up will appear for you to either Edit Alert for that contact, Save as Template for future use or Disable Alert for that contact.
Quick step-by-step on saving a template from an existing saved alert or creating a new alert, all from the Market Activity Alerts - Dashboard:
- Click on Market Activity Alerts.
- Click on Dashboard.
- Select a contact's Market Activity Alert and click on the three dots from the dashboard table.
- Click Save as Template within the pop-up to create an exact copy of the selected alert.
- Reminder: On the Dashboard, you can also click on the + Create New Alert button to create a new alert.
Create New Alert:
The Market Activity Alerts—Create New Alert tab allows you to select a Market or Draw a Custom Boundary to View Market Activity. From here, you can save the alert to a contact(s) or save it as a template for future use.
Quick step-by-step on creating Market Alert Templates from Market Activity Alerts - Create New Alert.
- Click on the Market Activity Alerts tab.
- Click on the Create New Alert tab.
- Fill out the form with your desired information and settings (e.g., draw a polygon on the map, set the price range to $200k-$500k, and set the schedule to monthly).
- Click on Save as Template.
- Reminder: On the Create New Alert tab, you can also save the alert for specific contacts.
Templates:
The Market Activity Alert—Templates tab will list all saved templates. From here, you can create a new template, assign one of the alert templates to a contact(s), or delete templates.
Quick step-by-step on creating a new Template:
- Click on the Market Activity Alert tab, then the Templates tab, from the drop-down menu.
- Click the + Create New Template button.
- Select a Market or Draw a Custom Boundary to View Market Activity; adding pricing details is optional.
- Select Preview Market Report
- Next, click on the Save as Template button.
- Lastly, a pop-up will appear for you to name the template and click Save as Template.
Quick step-by-step on assigning a Template to a contact:
- Click on the Market Activity Alert tab, then the Templates tab, from the drop-down menu.
- You will see a list of saved templates. Choose one and click on + Create Alert.
- Select your contact(s) from the drop-down menu. A pop-up will appear. Here, you can choose the contacts for which you want to receive the alert.
- Review the alert summary below and click on + Create # Market Alerts.
A green pop-up will let you know the alert(s) have been created successfully.
Contacts:
You can mass assign a Market Alert Template from the Contacts tab to selected contacts.
Quick step-by-step on assigning Market Alert Template(s) from the Contacts tab:
- Click on the Contacts tab on the left sidebar.
- Select the contacts to whom you want to send a Market Alert Template.
- Click on More Actions.
- Click on + Create Alerts from a Template.
You'll see the total number of contacts you've selected. - You'll see a pop-up, click on Create Market Alerts
- Next, you can select a saved template from the drop-down menu.
- Next, click on +Create # Market Alerts. You'll also see the summary.
- Lastly, a green pop-up will let you know the alerts were successfully created.
Contact Profiles:
When viewing a contact's profile, click ADD MARKEY ACTIVITY ALERT to choose from your saved templates.
Follow these steps to create listing alerts for your contacts:

Navigate to the Contact's Profile: Once on the contact's profile, you'll automatically be on the Email Alerts tab.

Scroll to Market Activity Alerts: Click the + AddMarket Activity Alert button.

Create/assign the Market Activity Alert: Click on Use a Template to select a saved template from the drop-down menu.
- Finalize: Click + Create Market Alerts button. A green pop-up will appear when you've successfully saved the alert. You will also see the alert under the Market Activity Alerts section.
Use Tags to create an alert for tagged contacts & matching tagged templates
How to Add or Remove Tags from Market Alert Templates
- Navigate to the Templates page by selecting Market Alert - Templates in the sidebar.
- On the Templates page, find the template you want to update. Click the action menu (three dots icon) on the far right side.
- Select Edit Tags (or delete)
- Add Tag or Remove Tag from the dropdown menu to manage your tags.
- Click DONE once complete.
- The system will search (hourly) for Contacts with the matching Tag added to their profiles to create an alert from Templates.
FAQs
-> You can save the template without needing to assign it to a contact.
-> Templates cannot be duplicated.
Q: Can agents edit market alert templates?
A: No, agents cannot edit market alert templates.
If an agent wants to change a template, they need to create a new one and delete the old one.
Q: If an agent makes changes to a template, will it change any alerts made from that template?
A: Currently, templates cannot be edited. Therefore, any alerts created from a template will not be changed or updated if the template is altered. To update an alert, a new one must be saved for the contact, either from a new template or by creating a new alert from scratch.
Q: My client has a Market Activity Alert I was editing but now I want to save that as a template, where can I do this?
A: Scroll up to the section for "Dashboard" in this article. Otherwise, you can also create a template from existing Market Activity Alerts saved for other contacts.
- Click on the Market Activity Alert - Dashboard or open an existing Market Activity Alert for a contact.
- Click on your contact's name to open their profile.
- On their profile under Email Alerts, scroll down to Market Activity Alerts and click VIEW/Edit.
- Here you can click on Save as Template, located under Manage Market Activity Alert.
- The template will be created as an exact copy of the Market Alert being viewed.
Q: How do I delete a template?
A: Quick step-by-step on deleting a Template:
- Click on the Market Activity Alert tab, then the Templates tab, from the drop-down menu.
- You will see a list of saved templates.
- Find the template you want to remove and clicking the three dots button on the right side.
- Click Delete.
- A pop-up will appear asking if you'd like to delete it.
- Click Delete Template to finalize.
Q: Do I need all of the Columns or Filters?
A: You will see different columns or filters in the Market Activity Alert section, and each view is up to you and how you'd like to customize it when viewing the tabs.
Q: For Tags, is the automation instant?
A: No, RealScout checks for matching tags once per hour and creates new alerts accordingly.
Q: For Tags, will all tags be used for matching?
A: Yes, all tags added to contacts, including those from RealScout and external systems like Follow Up Boss, will be used to find matches with templates.
Q: For Tags, are tags case-sensitive?
A: No, tags are case insensitive. For example, “cOoLTaG” will match “cooltag” or “COOLTAG”.
