Get Your RealScout Links Working Passively

Place at least one RealScout link somewhere it works without you: an email signature, social bio, or QR code. Your links never expire and update automatically.

Pick one RealScout link, place it somewhere it works without you, and leave it there. Your links never expire and update automatically as listings change.

Step 1: Pick your link

Go to your Dashboard and choose based on who you are trying to reach:

Copy the URL and save it to your notes app so it is accessible from both your phone and laptop.

Step 2: Place it somewhere passive

Choose one placement to start:

  • Email signature: Add the link as a clickable line in Gmail, Outlook, or iPhone Mail. Every email you send after this becomes a lead capture point with no extra effort.

  • Social bio: Paste the Landing Page link into your Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook profile. One placement covers every post you have ever published and every post you will publish.

  • Text signature: On iPhone, go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Text Replacement and add a shortcut that expands to your full RealScout URL.

For platform-specific setup steps (Gmail, Outlook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more), see Social Media Tips and Tricks.

Step 3: Generate a QR code (optional but recommended for print)

A QR code turns your RealScout link into something scannable. Use it on postcards, open house flyers, sign-in sheets, or slides. The URL is encoded directly into the pattern — it does not expire and does not need to be regenerated as listings change.

Option A: qr.io or qrfy.com — standalone image file

Best if you want an image file to drop into any design, print separately, or save to your phone.

  1. Go to qr.io or qrfy.com

  2. Under Content, select Link as the QR type

  3. Paste your RealScout URL into the URL field

  4. Under Design (optional), adjust color or add a logo frame

  5. Click Generate QR Code

  6. Click Download QR Code — you will be prompted to create a free account to download

  7. Download as PNG for digital use or SVG for print

Note: The free account is sufficient for a static QR code. No subscription required.

Option B: Canva — QR code embedded inside a design

Best if you are already building a postcard, flyer, or Story graphic in Canva and want the QR code placed directly in the design.

  1. Open an existing Canva design or create a new one

  2. In the left panel, click More

  3. Search for QR Code and select the QR Code element

  4. Enter your RealScout URL in the URL field

  5. Click Generate code — the QR code is added to your design

  6. Resize and position it, then download as PNG or PDF

Note: Logo upload inside the QR code requires Canva Pro. For a plain QR code, the free plan works.

Save your QR code in two places:
→ Your phone's camera roll (for Stories and quick sharing)
→ A folder on your laptop (for print materials and slides)

Generate a separate QR code for each link type you want to use. Label files clearly when saving: for example, QR-SearchLink-Austin.png or QR-WMHW-General.png.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my QR code stop working if listings change?

No. RealScout Search Links update automatically with your live MLS data. The QR code encodes the URL, not the listing content. The same QR code you generate today will always point to a current search. You do not need to regenerate it.

Do I need a different QR code for each link type?

Yes. Each QR code encodes one specific URL. If you want a buyer QR code and a seller QR code, generate them separately and label them clearly when saving.

Can I add my QR code to my email signature instead of the text link?

Gmail and Outlook both support image insertion in signatures. You can add the QR code image alongside your text link. Keep the text link as the primary element — some email clients block images by default, so the QR code alone is not reliable in email. QR codes work best on print, slides, and social.

How do I know if someone registered from my link or scanned my QR code?

New contacts who register appear in your Contacts list as Nurtured. If you applied a tag when creating the Search Link, you can filter contacts by that tag on the Contacts page. Quick Links, the Landing Page link, and the What's My Home Worth link show new registrations in your daily or weekly email notification from RealScout.

What if I already have a Search Link from a previous session?

Use it. Generate a QR code from it and add it to your email signature. You do not need to create a new link. Your existing Search Links are in Marketing → Search Links.
