RealScout includes three shareable link types, each built for a different client situation:
→ a Search Link for active active or potential buyers
→ a shareable Market Activity Alert link after adding your leads, for area-level nurture and seller touchpoints.
→ your RealScout account offers a public "What's My Home Worth?" page for homeowner lead capture.
Knowing which link to use, and when, removes the friction from your client conversations.
"Which link fits my client?"
Use this table before generating any link. The starting conditions determine which link is appropriate.
Link Type | Best For | Requires Existing Contact? | Where to Generate |
Search Link | Active buyer with defined search criteria | No, though you can create a private link (single lead sign-in) at the point of sharing | |
Market Activity Alert link | Lead in your database, such as a buyer awaiting nurture, seller prospect, or lead where next steps are uncertain | Yes — works as a public or contact-specific share | Marketing → Shareable Links or directly from a contact's Email Alerts tab |
Home Value Alert ("What's My Home Worth?") | Known homeowner sphere contact, social media audience, email signature, listing presentation follow-up | No — the public link creates the contact when they register | Home Value Alerts → Capture Leads |
All three links are available from your Marketing → Shareable Links hub or the linked pages above.
Search Links
A Search Link is a curated property search shared directly with one buyer. Listings are MLS-accurate and update in real time. When the client saves or favorites a property, the activity registers as a Scout Score signal, which you can see on their contact profile.
Use this for active buyers who have told you their criteria. This link is not for passive contacts or general broadcast.
How to generate a Search Link
Navigate to Marketing → Shareable Links.
Select the Advanced Search Link tab.
Choose the Listing Alert Template that matches this buyer's criteria. If no Template exists yet, create one in Templates first, then return here.
Set the public display name the client will see when they open the link.
Add an auto-tag if you want to track which contacts registered through this specific link.
Click Create Search Link and copy the URL.
Note: You need a saved Listing Alert Template before you can generate an Advanced Search Link. The Template is the search criteria the link displays.
Introducing a Search Link to a buyer at the consultation
When you share this link, tell the client what it is and how it works. The key is setting the expectation that their activity (saves, views, reactions) feeds the conversation between the two of you:
"I'm setting you up in the same system I use to manage all my buyer searches. The listings are MLS-accurate and update in real time. The search is built around what you told me. When you save a property, I can see it, so if you're excited about something, I know, and we can talk about it. This is a conversation, not a static list."
Driving adoption after you share the link
Clients who do not save properties within the first session tend to disengage. Reduce that risk by walking the client through saving one property together at the consultation. It takes three minutes and generates the first Scout Score signal.
Set up at least two Listing Alerts per buyer: one built around their ideal criteria, one adjusted slightly to show more options. Having two searches active keeps the client engaged longer by surfacing more relevant listings over time.
Tell buyers explicitly: "When you like something, hit save. That tells me what's working and what isn't. Don't just look."
If a client goes quiet for seven or more days, send a direct check-in: "Hey [name], checking in. Are the searches I set up showing the right properties, or should we adjust?" This is more effective than a generic follow-up because it invites a response about the search itself.
Market Activity Alert link
A Market Activity Alert sends area-level market data to a contact on a recurring schedule: new listings, price changes, buyer activity, and neighborhood trends. It is not a listing-by-listing alert. It is a market overview.
Use this link in two situations: to keep a buyer engaged when inventory is low or when there are not enough matching listings for a regular Listing Alert, or as a seller touchpoint to show homeowners what buyer and listing activity looks like in their neighborhood.
Note: There is no standalone shareable URL for a Market Activity Alert the way there is for a Search Link or the "What's My Home Worth?" page. The Market Activity Alert link is shared when you assign an alert directly to a contact's profile. If you want a public-facing entry point for this type of content, use the Search Link for buyers or the "What's My Home Worth?" page for homeowners.
How to assign a Market Activity Alert to a contact
Open the contact's profile in Contacts.
Navigate to the Email Alerts tab.
Click Add Alert and select Market Activity Alert.
Choose the geographic area and the cadence: Monthly works for most contacts and markets. Bi-weekly applies to high-activity markets only.
Save.
To build a reusable version, save the configuration as a Template in Templates and assign by tag or manual selection.
Introducing a Market Activity Alert to a client
For buyers waiting on inventory:
"Even when there isn't a perfect match right now, this keeps you informed about what's moving in the neighborhoods you care about. When the right property hits, you'll already have context."
For homeowners or seller prospects:
"This shows you what buyer and listing activity looks like in your neighborhood right now. You can see what's coming on the market and what buyers are searching for, all from your end."
Home Value Alert ("What's My Home Worth?")
Your "What's My Home Worth?" link is a public page where homeowners enter their address, receive an automated valuation based on real MLS data, and register as a contact in your account. When they register, RealScout can automatically create a Home Value Alert tied to their property.
Use this link in your email signature, social media posts and stories, listing presentation follow-ups, and sphere marketing to homeowners. It is a passive lead capture tool that stays active as long as your account is active.
This link is different from a contact-specific Home Value Alert. A contact-specific HVA is set up on a known homeowner's profile. The "What's My Home Worth?" link captures new homeowner contacts before they are in your database.
How to find your public "What's My Home Worth?" link
Navigate to Home Value Alerts.
Locate the Capture Leads section.
Copy your "What's My Home Worth?" URL.
The URL is tied to your agent subdomain and does not change. You do not need to regenerate it.
Introducing the Home Value Alert to a homeowner contact
"I set this up for every homeowner I work with. It's a living snapshot of your home's value based on real MLS data, not a generic estimate. You can check it any time and it updates automatically."
For a sphere or social audience, you do not need a full explanation. A short call to action is enough: "Curious what your home is worth right now? Here's the link: [URL]." The page handles the rest.
Three placements in just a few minutes
Once you have your "What's My Home Worth?" link, deploy it in three places before saving the link to your notes. For example,
One social post with your link and a short call to action.
One text to five homeowners in your sphere.
One addition to your email signature alongside your Search Link. Every email you send after that becomes a passive seller lead generator.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Search Link and a Listing Alert?
A Listing Alert Search Link is a public URL that shows a curated search to anyone who clicks it.
A Listing Alert is a recurring email sent to a specific contact on a schedule.
When someone registers through a Search Link, they become a contact, and you can then set up a Listing Alert for them. The two are complementary: the link captures the contact, the alert keeps them engaged.
Can I use a Market Activity Alert link the same way I use a Search Link, as a public URL to broadcast?
No. Market Activity Alerts are assigned to individual contacts on their profile. There is no standalone public URL for a Market Activity Alert. The "What's My Home Worth?" link and the Search Link are the two options for public-facing broadcast. Market Activity Alerts run as contact-specific recurring emails.
Does the "What's My Home Worth?" link expire or need to be refreshed?
No. The URL is tied to your agent account and stays active for the lifetime of your account. You do not need to regenerate it or update it. Share the same link everywhere.
Can a buyer contact receive both a Listing Alert and a Market Activity Alert at the same time?
Yes. The two alert types run independently on their own schedules. A contact can receive Listing Alerts on a daily or weekly cadence and a Market Activity Alert monthly. There is no conflict between alert types on the same contact profile.
How do I know if a client is engaging with the search I shared?
Open the contact's profile in Contacts and check their Scout Score and recent activity. Scout Score reflects how actively the contact is engaging with their searches over time. Individual saves, views, and reactions appear in the activity log on the contact record.
Can I send a buyer both a Search Link and a Market Activity Alert?
Yes. These are not mutually exclusive. A buyer who has an active Listing Alert can also receive a Market Activity Alert for the area they are searching. The Listing Alert sends properties that match their criteria. The Market Activity Alert shows area-level context. Together they give the buyer a complete picture of the market.
