To get caught up, start here

Existing Lead: Create a Home Value Alert

A Home Value Alert (HVA) sends a homeowner periodic emails showing their property’s estimated value, recent comparable sales, and neighborhood market trends. It requires a confirmed home address on the contact’s profile.

  1. Search for the homeowner contact or enter the property address directly

  2. Review the generated value estimate and comparable properties

  3. Confirm the alert and set the cadence

  4. Open the contact’s profile and confirm the HVA is active on the Email Alerts tab

The homeowner will receive periodic updates automatically. No further action is required after setup.

Note: please go to your profile settings in RealScout to ensure you've added a profile photo and logo to your RealScout account.

Lead Capture: Deploy your “What’s My Home Worth?” public link

Your public seller entry point lets anyone, not just existing contacts, enter their address and receive a home valuation. When they register, they are added to your RealScout account as a new Nurtured contact.

  1. Navigate to Home Value Alerts

  2. Locate the Capture Leads section

  3. Copy your “What’s My Home Worth?” URL

Your public link lives on your agent-specific subdomain: youragentsubdomain.realscout.com/homesearch/home-reports. This URL is permanent and does not expire.

Decide on your sharing options

One link can have more than one placement. Use your “What’s My Home Worth?” URL for all three:

1. One social post. Post a Story or feed post on any platform with a visual hook and the link. A simple CTA works: “What’s your home worth? Tap to find out.” The Story formula from Week 1 applies here: visual hook, Link sticker, one-line CTA.

2. One direct message to sphere contacts. Send a direct message to homeowners who have give you permission to market to them:

→ I just set up a free tool that tracks your home’s value automatically. Here’s the link: It takes 30 seconds & you’ll get an emailed update next month.

Personalize for anyone you know well.

3. One addition to your email signature. Add the link alongside or below your existing Search Link in your email signature. See the Always-On Marketing with Your RealScout Links: Email Signatures and QR Codes recap for setup steps.

Pairing: Home Value Alert vs. Market Activity Alert

You do not have to choose one or the other. A homeowner can receive both a Home Value Alert for their specific property and a Market Activity Alert for their neighborhood. The two serve different purposes and should be set up for your leads in these ways:

Situation

Use This

Why

Known homeowner with confirmed address

Home Value Alert

Property-specific valuation, directly relevant to their home

Contact where ownership is unknown

Market Activity Alert

Area-level data that works regardless of ownership status. Can be used for buyers to share updates on popular listings.

Known homeowner who already has an HVA

Market Activity Alert as complement

Adds neighborhood demand context alongside the property valuation; schedule can be set to bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly.

What the Seller Sees

The first Home Value Alert email a homeowner receives includes an estimated home value based on comparable MLS data, recent comparable sales in their area, neighborhood market trends, and your branding and contact information. The email comes from your name, delivered via RealScout’s alert system:

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the “What’s My Home Worth?” link expire?

No. The link stays active as long as your RealScout account is active. You do not need to recreate it. Copy it once, save it to your phone, and reuse it everywhere.

Can I create a Home Value Alert for a contact who does not have a home address? Not right away. A confirmed home address is required to create a Home Value Alert.

  • Share your “What’sMy Home Worth?” URL directly or invite using the RealScout app:

What if the home value estimate looks wrong?

Home value estimates are based on our valuation providers’ automated valuation models. Home Valuations are not appraisals. If the estimate appears off, this may be due to the data ATTOM and/or Zillow uses in their automated valuations. This may change over time, and you can use the discrepancy as a conversation starter. For example: → “The estimate is based on automated valuation data. Let me give you a more precise picture based on what I know about your home.”

  • You can update the valuation manually to provide your own estimate and (optionally) toggle ATTOM/Zillow off for specific contacts.

Can I track who signs up through the public link?

Yes. New contacts who register through your “What’s My Home Worth?” link appear in your Nurtured contacts and Home Value Alerts Dashboard automatically. Sort by recently-added in RealScout (or your connected CRM)

What cadence does the Home Value Alert send on?

The default schedule is monthly, and can be adjusted in your Home Value Alert Settings:

Can I use both a Home Value Alert and a Market Activity Alert for the same homeowner?

Yes. Since a Home Value Alert shows the homeowner what their specific property’s automated valuation, a Market Activity Alert shows what is happening in their neighborhood: buyer demand, recent sales/listings, and movement.

Together they give the homeowner a fuller picture and keep your name in front of them on two separate touchpoints.
